hey! i’m mallory

Most days you can find me working from home in yoga pants and a messy bun, running my photography business while navigating through the chaos of parenthood with my three littles. When I’m not busy working, you can catch me at the local coffee shop drive thru with our spunky eight-year-old daughter Vera, five-year-old son Landon, and two-year-old Miles in the backseat (cake pop requests likely happening in the backseats) If we're at home, I'm likely moving about our 1960’s rambler house that we are constantly renovating, playing and chasing kiddos and singing lots of tunes as the kids like to think they live in a Broadway musical (with an off-key lead vocalist). Most recent obsession being The Greatest Showman & all the Taylor Swift.

I photograph people who envision their wedding day as a true reflection of themselves as a couple. People who believe in forever marriages and who are genuinely so dang excited to marry their partner and forever sleepover buddy.

I’d love to tell you about my story because, we all have one. My path led me to college where I studied Marketing and received a business major. I told my parents halfway through I wanted to quit and become a photographer but they urged me to finish (and I’m glad they did!) After graduation I got all the ‘big girl’ jobs working at both large corporations and fun advertising agencies. My organized, color-coded, list-loving self loved the work, but my entrepreneurial creative self was just itching to be set free.

I started my photography business and built it from the ground up as I worked my corporate life. Upon having our daughter Vera in 2015, I turned full time photographer and full-time mama, which is my absolute dream career combination. Looking back, it’s really no surprise I became a photographer. I was an avid scrapbooker back when it was cool (wait, it was cool, right!?). After high school dances I would bring my camera card to Target, print my photos, and put them in a little album to bring to school the following Monday so I could share all the photos with my friends. Before phones became the go-to life camera, I was always the one who brought along an ACTUAL camera to take photos of everything! All this and more led me to where I am today as a photographer who is so fulfilled with this career and life.

I am cheered on always by my husband Matt, and our three kids, Vera, Landon & Miles. My perfectly imperfect family that I love SO much.

5 things you might not know about me:

(1)

While mostly fueled by coffee (typically with an unhealthy amount of creamer), my primary food groups include: cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, and my favorite childhood snack: rice cakes with peanut butter and cheese (don’t hate, you need to try it, it will change your life).

(2)

I was voted “Most Organized” in high school. While slightly embarrassing and not very cool, it was (as still is) a pretty spot on award. Color coding and checklists bring me an insane amount of joy.

(3)

We have a 1966 vintage travel camper that we remodeled and use for summer camping adventures. It is tiny and adorable (we have since also purchased a larger 90s camper that we are also renovating!) I’m a strong supporter of ‘glamping’ with air conditioning and a bed.

(5)

Cider beer is my adult beverage of choice, so cheers to all you cider lovers! The world is slowly catching up with our awesome taste.

(4)

As a former gymnast, I feel a need to whip out a handstand, cartwheel, or trampoline back flip once in awhile (perhaps just to prove to myself that these skills still exist). Confession: I am typically sore afterward doing such things.
